FOUNDER & PRINCIPAL
Neal Quon
Most people who come to Neal Quon are doing well and can't figure out why it doesn't feel that way. The income is strong and the tax bill is punishing. There's a CPA, but the conversation is about last year, not next year. There's equity comp nobody has explained. There may be a good advisor somewhere in the picture who has never once asked about the rest of it.
Neal built Adaptiv Partners for exactly that gap. The problem is rarely a bad product or a bad professional — it's that no one is holding the whole picture, so decisions get made one at a time and the cost shows up everywhere at once.
His work starts with an inventory, not a recommendation: what you earn, what you own, how it's held, what it costs you in taxes each year, and where the structure is quietly working against the goal. Only then does the conversation turn to solutions — and often the best solution is to coordinate the professionals you already have rather than replace them.
That coordination is the practice. In a given week Neal is directing tax strategy with CPAs who were only ever asked to file, working with estate counsel on titling and entity questions, resolving problems a prior preparer left behind, and managing portfolios on an institutional platform where clients keep full ownership and visibility. The complexity scales to the situation. The first question never does — it's always the same one: what's actually going on here, and what's it costing you?
He is direct about what he is not. Not a CPA, not an attorney, not right for everyone. And he draws a hard line between tactics and strategy — buying something to create a deduction is a tactic, and clients have usually been sold plenty of those. Strategy is knowing which decisions, in which order, over how many years.
The underlying discipline is simple and he repeats it often: every dollar should be working, and the first job is to remove unnecessary fees, unnecessary taxes, and unnecessary risk.
Neal works with high earners, business owners, and families at every stage of building — from the first serious tax question to the most complex transfers.
